Forgive us our sins,

as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

SOME PEOPLE ACT as if the state of being offended is virtuous. If we walk around supremely offended, then we must be righteous, right? Wrong. Holding on to the harmful things people say and do against us alienates us from our Savior. If we have placed our trust in Jesus, then we have experienced forgiveness and received his righteousness. How can we hold on to bitterness when he has given his life to clear our offenses against him?

When we forgive “those who sin against us,” we love like Jesus loves. It sets us free for much bigger and better things.

Don’t forget what people intend to use for harm, God can use for His greater good. Let offenses slide today, and watch how God works!
